MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD OF DEPARTMENT

Biotechnology is the use of living organisms to create new products and processes. This field is an application of scientific and engineering principles to process materials by the use of biological agents to deliver goods and services. It is an applied science and has great scope in medical, agricultural, food and pharmaceutical
sciences. Our BS Biotechnology curriculum has been designed to produce graduates with updated and practical knowledge of this multidisciplinary and emerging field. Biotechnology is the application of scientific and engineering principals to the processing of material by biological agents to deliver goods and services. Biotechnology involves a number of technologies centered upon growing understanding of biology at the cellular and molecular level. Biotechnological applications play an important role in health industry, agriculture and environment and are helpful in making life of human beings peaceful and comfortable.

BS in Biotechnology is designed to equip the students with the updated and practical knowledge of this multidisciplinary and emerging field. The aim of BS in Biotechnology is to develop indigenous manpower experts in Biotechnology that will help the industry of biotechnology by making novel achievements. The students may seek their career in educational institutes, scientific research and development, management in biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector.
After Completion of this program the graduates will be able to: Demonstrate in depth knowledge of the basic and advance biotechnology, both in fundamental context and its application to understand, correlate and apply theoretical foundations of knowledge to the practice of Biotechnology; evaluate and clarify new or evolving theory relevant to Biotechnology. Develop and utilize the process of critical thinking and inquiry, particularly focused on the improvement of the practice of Biotechnology for the delivery of health care. Consider research-based evidences for medical Sciences practice. Communicate effectively both verbally and through descriptive writing. Demonstrate leadership, management, and communication skills to effectively participate in the field of Biotechnology related to the health care system through applied Biotechnology. Gain the trust of society through their practices. Understand the professional and ethical responsibilities; will be able to engage in lifelong learning and growth in the field of Biotechnology. Think critically, and promote team work; demonstrate professional attitude. Demonstrate professionalism during collection of specimens, data, conduction of experiments, performing data analysis and interpretation of results to draw precise and valid conclusions.
