AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE The aim of the 4 years (8 semesters) Bachelor Program in Medical Ultrasound Technology is to equip the students with relevant professional knowledge, skills, techniques and ethical values to enable them to apply their acquired expertise at the level between the medical imaging specialist and the patient for efficient health service delivery. To produce professionals, to serve the community by providing the best sonographic imaging.
GENERAL LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Program education and training should enable the student to:  Develop accuracy and meticulousness to attain high levels of ethics and technical proficiency.  Assess the technical and non-technical skills in a standardised and reproducible environment.  Strengthen the decision power and exercise appropriate judgment skills, to be applied especially during crisis.  Develop good leadership, problem solving and administrative skills.  Develop and analyse innovative strategies for effective communication with the patients and the healthcare personnel.  Demonstrate interdisciplinary team building strategies for effective co-ordination between various Allied Health Disciplines.  Demonstrate understanding of the basic concepts of professional behavior and legal implications of the work environment.  Demonstrate the knowledge of his / her role in health care delivery system.  Establishing and maintaining continuing education as a function of growth and maintenance of professional competence.  Serve the community by providing the best sonographic imaging'
MISSION STATEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT “UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF RADIOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGY”:
The core purpose of the department “University Institute of Radiological Sciences and Medical Imaging Technology” is to augment the number of competent medical imaging professionals capable of providing medical imaging services to the population while observing high-level ethical values with international standards. Modern innovations faced an educational psychologist with great challenges. And a need for objective-based focused learning was intended. And this objective-based focused learning is the main goal of this department. This is the era of specialisations in medical imaging and the institutes are committed to providing the platform where they can meet national and international standards. The knowledge and skills provided by this department is not only making the subject specialist professionals in addition to, medical imaging research-oriented scholar and better medical professionals as well. The Department “University Institute of Radiological Sciences and Medical Imaging Technology” (UIRSMIT) under the umbrella of Allied Health Sciences (AHS) at The University of Lahore is dedicated to medical imaging and academic excellence in teaching and research. The ultimate goals are to produce medical professionals with the highest standards in creativity, transparency and application of knowledge, dissemination to address issues of our time and coverage of future prospects.
