The Evolution of the Urdu Novel and Ghazal

The Urdu Department at Ibadat International University Islamabad organized a one-day literary seminar titled “The Evolution of the Urdu Novel and Ghazal.”

The seminar was chaired by Colonel Dr. Talat Shabbir, a well-known poet, intellectual, and Director of the Pak-China Study Centre. Acclaimed novelist Ms. Rabel Rani specifically traveled from Sargodha to participate as the guest of honor.

At the beginning of the seminar, Dr. Arif Farhad, Head of the Urdu Department, presented a detailed paper on the evolution of the novel. Subsequently, MPhil students presented their articles.

Finally, both the guest of honor and the chairman addressed the gathering. They praised the initiative taken by the university’s Urdu Department, stating that such events and seminars are crucial for the promotion of the Urdu language. The seminar concluded with a dialogue session between the students and the invited experts.
